Our history

Ronca farms are the results of more than 30 years of hard work and passion of the founder in the crops domain. Since the 70’s, working for 2 of the biggest companies specialised in crops selling, Gennaro Ronca has been in charge of the administrative and marketing sides, learning at the same time more about all the other aspects of the crops market.

In 1990, pushed by passion and expertise in the field, he founds the small import-export company, eu.ro. frutta, together with his friend and partner in the business, Eustacchio Zottoli, and sooner they became a reference point for Italian and Spanish nursery farmers and local producer in the South of Italy, specialized in strawberry plants.

At that time, the company exported the traditional varieties such as pajaro, duglas, favette, cruz, chandler e camarosa, adding later the new ones fortuna, amiga, marisol and margherita.

In 1999 Mr Ronca and Mr Zottoli decided to enter the market with their own agricultural production so they bought their first fields to produce starwberries and top fruits.

In 2004 was founded Ronca Gennaro farm, specialized in strawberry crops under poly tunnels but growing also nectarines,apricots, kohlrabi, rocket and watermelons.

In 2005 the business was expanded creating the Agricola Ronca, a farm network composed by 3 farms responding to the main one Azienda Agricola Ronca Gennaro, whose protected crops go along 60 hectares.

Recently, a pack house was built close to the farm in order to pack and stock our crops, especially strawberries; Ronca farms currently represents a point of reference in the Piana del Sele for production and packaging of the latest varieties. We choose to grow and supply fruit that has a superior flavour which will continually delight our customers always respecting the planet. We got all the certificates such as Global Gap, Grasp and IFS Food and we are oriented in the constant improvement of the production process.
